I had the best night at Mastro's in Newport Beach yesterday with my husband. The team there really went above and beyond for us. We had made a reservation at the Malibu location. I had no idea when I asked Siri for "directions to Malibu Ocean Club in Malibu" that it would direct us to the Newport location. What a happy accident it was!!! My husband has been away as he is in the armed forces. It was his first day back and I wanted to make the night special. I was devastated I directed us to the wrong location. But when we checked in with the front hostess, he was more than understanding, accommodating and got us a table with no issue. We hung out at the bar until our table was ready (no more than 10 minutes). Esteban was our bartender and he makes the BEST drinks! But it was Ally, our server, that truly made our night special. She is the reason for this review. Honestly the best SERVICE we have EVER received. She knows the menu inside and out. Her recommendations were delectable. She checked on us often, refilled our water before we even noticed we needed it, she even remembered our names and addressed us by name each time she came to our table. She really made our night and I couldn't be more thankful for the service she provided to us. Thank you soooo very much Ally! She is such a gem The Newport location is now our favorite location! We will definitely be returning. The restaurant has a beautiful indoor/outdoor ambiance. We were so happy to have ended up in the wrong location. What a night to remember.

Prob the best steak I had at any Mastro's loctaions! The service was beyond great! New was awesome! Nicest staff I ever met!

Stopped by here late night for a Manhattan and dessert. Scored seats at the bar which is great and close to the piano bar with live performances. The Maestros Manhattan is a signature drink. I've had it at multiple locations and it's consistently good. It's a generous portion, served with a shaker which has enough for two drinks. It's generally shaken table side so even if you're not sitting at the bar it's a great choice. For dessert we ordered the butter cake which is also a signature option. Massive scoop of vanilla ice cream served over a warm butter cake. Great for sharing.

Absolutely decadent sport right here. Don't be coming with a light wallet either. Service was great food was great vibes are immaculate. I went with the 32oz snake river tomahawk cause I'm a big dog who likes big bones. I like a medium + but I ordered medium knowing how thick the steak was and didn't want it to take an hour to cook. I will say it came out closer to well but I didn't mind. Although I could see that being a problem for some people. We also did the thick maple glazed bacon and crab cocktail. The bacon was nuts and the crab was on point. Don't forget your sides, that mac n cheese was stupid good. The views of the water are excellent in the dining area and the bar will happily pour your party drinks while you wait for the table. Don't forget to make a reservation this place was packed when I went.

Our reservations were seamless, and upon arrival, we were greeted by our wonderful waitress, Kim. She immediately made us feel welcome and surprised us with menus adorned with a "Happy Anniversary" message - a lovely personal touch that set the tone for the evening. The highlight of the evening was the food and beverage service. Our expertly crafted cocktails were prepared tableside, adding a touch of flair and entertainment to the experience. They were absolutely delicious! Our appetizer selections, the crab cocktail and the octopus, were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. We then shared an Italian chopped salad, a refreshing break before our main courses. The petit filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender and rich with flavor, a true testament to the quality of the ingredients. The pork chop was a revelation - the apple brandy sauce created a perfect sweet and savory combination. We finished the evening on a perfect note with the anniversary cheesecake and berries. It was a delightful way to end a truly special meal. Exceptional Service by Kim: Our waitress, Kim, deserves special recognition. She was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening. Her friendly and genuine demeanor made us feel like valued guests. Mastro's Ocean Club provided the perfect ambiance, impeccable service, and an exceptional culinary experience. Kim's attentiveness and the special touches for our anniversary made it a night we won't soon forget. We highly recommend Mastro's Ocean Club for a special occasion or a truly memorable night out.

The restaurant is so beautiful, and the service is good. The cocktail shrimp appetizer should be very fresh. The main course, filet mignon, could have excellent texture and flavor. The dining environment at the restaurant should be excellent, with some seats offering views of the sea and sunset. The background music could be fantastic. Each dish would also be beautifully plated. If you want to secure a dinner reservation, you should ideally book three days in advance.

This is hands down THE BEST Mastros location. The restaurant is so beautiful, staff are all amazing and the crowd is great! I love the live music, they were lovely and definitely set the vibe. Michelle is the best, I hope to see her again the next time I come visit! Luis was so helpful accommodating me with my same day reservation. Also, Alicia, in the women's restroom is the sweetest!!! ..I can't wait to come back here! You MUST order the sautéed shrimp!!!!! It's packed with so much flavor, it's very filling, option of order of 4 or 6 - we got two orders of 4 and shared between 3- plenty! The ahi tuna tartare is deeeeelish!!! So fresh and has a little kick to it, not spicy at all definitely tolerable. The dream berry is my go to drink when I'm at Mastros, I used to get the Hennessy sidecar but I'm a light weight and that drink is STRONG! Dream berry is sweet and perfect! The lamb is amazing, Brussel sprouts, lobster mashed potatoes, creamed corn, Mac and cheese are all my favorites! Definitely recommend! I love the butter cake and cheesecake, I look forward to it every year for my birthday!

Made a reservation in advance and requested a window table. Watched the sunset from the great table we were seated at. The food was spectacular! Everything ordered was delicious! Might even come back for a second time before the trip ends. Service by Erica and the team was excellent. What we had Bread Service Lobster Mashed Potatoes Sauteed Sea Scallops American Wagyu Tomahawk Warm Butter Cake Spectacular food, excellent service and amazing views. Definitely recommending Mastro's!
